DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE PROGRAM\nMusic at Evergreen is Evergreen Museum & Library’s popular and eclectic series of classical music concerts that continues The Honorable John Work Garrett and Alice Warder Garrett’s tradition of presenting intimate performances in their home. The series’s 69th season continues on January 15 with a performance by pianist Ying Li. \nPlease note: These are tickets for a single concert. To purchase subscription tickets for all three concerts in the 2022-2023 Music at Evergreen Concert Series\, click HERE. \n\nABOUT THE ARTIST\nTwenty-four-year-old Chinese pianist Ying Li is the First Prize winner of the 2021 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions\, as well as recipient of The Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival Prize and the Tri-I Noon Recitals Prize. She has received top awards in numerous national and international competitions\, including the inaugural Antonio Mormone International Prize\, Sarasota Artist Series Piano Competition\, Brevard Music Festival\, and the International Liszt Piano Competition for Young Pianists. She also was a finalist at Concours musical international de Montréal. \nShe has performed with many leading orchestras such as The Philadelphia Orchestra\, New Jersey Symphony\, Brevard Music Festival Orchestra\, L’Accademia Orchestra del La Scala\, and the NWD-Philharmoniker. \nRecent recitals also include Sala Verdi in Milan\, Hammerklavier International Piano Festival in Barcelona\, Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna\, Fazioli Pianoforti in Sacile\, and the C. Bechstein Series at the Konzerthaus in Berlin. Li was also featured on WQXR’s Eine-kleine Birthday-musik\, a free\, all-Mozart live-streamed concert from The Greene Space in New York City\, to celebrate Mozart’s 266th birthday. \nAs an avid chamber musician\, Li has appeared at prestigious festivals around the world\, including the Verbier Festival Academy\, ClassicheFORME International Chamber Music festival in Lecce\,  Ravinia’s Steans Institute\, La Jolla Music Society\, Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival\, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival\, the Artists Series Concerts in Sarasota\, and the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival. \nShe began piano lessons at age five in China\, and was a student at the Elementary School division of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She then moved to Philadelphia in 2012\, at age fourteen\, to study at the Curtis Institute of Music with Jonathan Biss and Seymour Lipkin. SUMMARY:Free Admission February at Homewood Museum
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE EVENT\nIn Honor of Black History Month\, Homewood welcomes visitors free of charge during the month of February. A National Historic Landmark\, Homewood was built circa 1801 for members of Maryland’s prominent Carroll family. The house also was home to at least 25 enslaved individuals\, including members of the Castle\, Conner\, and Ross families. Tour the house’s period rooms and learn how the lives of all of Homewood’s early inhabitants intersected as they reached for liberty and fulfillment in vastly unequal circumstances. \n  \nREGISTRATION\n\nAll tours are free during the month of February. Visitors have two tour options to choose from: \nDocent-led tours are available Tuesday-Sunday and take about an hour to complete. To reserve a docent-led tour\, CLICK HERE.\nSelf-guided tours will take about 30 minutes to complete. To reserve a self-guided tour\, CLICK HERE.\n\nSpace is limited within the museum. Participants will be able to imitate the style of famous African American artists\, including Tom Miller\, David Driskell\, and Romare Bearden. There will be a live drum call\, a brief remembrance ceremony\, and a dance performance by Baltimore School for the Arts student Edward Lee III. \nREGISTRATION\n\nOpen to children 5 years old and above.\nChildren must be accompanied by an adult.\nBoth children\, and any adults accompanying them\, need to purchase individual tickets. \nDue to limited space\, there is a maximum of one parent/guardian per child. \nA second session of this program will be held from 2-3 p.m.\n\nTo reserve a spot at either session\, CLICK HERE.
