DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE PROGRAM\nAttend the grand opening of Evergreen Museum & Library’s latest exhibition\, A History of Houseplants\, which examines the Victorian houseplant craze and today’s similar obsession with indoor flora. The evening will start with a special panel discussion and Q&A in the museum’s historic Bakst Theatre featuring Liz Vayda of B.Willow; Meghan Avolio\, Ph.D.\, Assistant Professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University; Michelle Fitzgerald\, Curator of Collection at the Johns Hopkins University Museums; and Lori Beth Finkelstein\, Ph.D.\, Director of the Johns Hopkins University Museums. Then\, from 7-9 p.m.\, explore the exhibition\, enjoy food and drink\, and chat with the curatorial staff and special guests. Admission is free but space is limited; please register HERE. \n  \nABOUT THE EXHIBITION\n\nEvergreen’s new major exhibition\, A History of Houseplants\, explores the forces that catalyzed the Victorians’ obsession with houseplants\, reveals how the trend manifested at Evergreen and in Baltimore\, and examines how today’s houseplant craze both recalls and differs from the Victorian version of 150 years ago. Admission to the exhibition is free.
