ABOUT THE EVENT

Celebrate Juneteenth with free food, history, and fellowship, honoring the freedom dreams, struggles, and triumphs of Baltimore’s Black ancestors. All are welcome at the free event.

12 p.m. Lunch service begins

12:15 p.m. Invitation to gather: Talking drum circle

12:25 p.m. Historical groundings: Juneteenth history and libation

12:35 p.m. Body freedom: West African and Black Maryland praise dancing

12:55 p.m. Thought freedom: Spoken word performance by youth poets

1:10 p.m. Political freedom: Keynote on “Freedom, Power, and Love in Black Struggle” in Baltimore

1:30 p.m. Cultural freedom: Club DJ meets Djembe – a festival of Black sound, soul, and joy

2 p.m. Lunch service concludes
