Evergreen’s gift shop offers a variety of products for sale including stationary, books, jewelry and accessories inspired by the museum’s history, its collection of art and books and natural landscape.

Bike
We welcome visitors by foot and bicycle. If you arrive by bike, please let a museum representative know and we will help you find a place to secure it.
Bus
Baltimore City bus routes service the museum’s Charles Street location, including the Route 51 Bus (“Towson-Downtown”) and Route 28 Bus (“Moravia-Rogers Ave Metro”). Routes and stops change frequently, so please consult the MTA’s website here.
Collegetown Shuttle
For students, faculty, and staff of the Johns Hopkins University, Notre Dame of Maryland University, and Towson University, the free Baltimore Collegetown Shuttle operates during the spring and fall semesters. The stop for Notre Dame University Maryland at Charles Street and Homeland Avenue (stop 411) is walking distance to Evergreen Museum & Library.
Parking
There is ample free parking at Evergreen Museum & Library. Drive through the front gate and veer to the left at the fork in the road. At the top of the hill, there is regular parking to the right of the mansion. Please use head-in parking, not parallel parking. Handicapped parking is available to the left of the front of the mansion.

What is the tour like? What will I see?
On a docent-led tour of Evergreen, you will see 15 rooms of the Gilded Age mansion, including the 30,000-volume John Work Garrett Library, plus many objects ranging from Tiffany glass and Asian ceramics to paintings by artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, Raoul Dufy, Zelda Fitzgerald, Diego Rivera, and David Driskell. The tour takes approximately 75 minutes to complete. Visitors with time constraints can request a shorter version of the tour by speaking to visitor services staff and/or your docent before the tour starts.

Is the museum accessible to people with limited mobility?
Due to the historical nature of the building, only parts of the museum are accessible to those with limited mobility, including those using a wheelchair or a walker. The regular tour requires climbing stairs and being able to stand for the duration of the tour. Wheelchairs and walkers can be accommodated in The North Wing (Gallery, Far East Room, Bakst Theatre, and Gift Shop). To request special accommodations, call 410-516-0341 or email museums@jhu.edu.

Do you offer group tours?
Yes, we welcome groups to the museum. Group tours start at nine (9) people and receive a discounted rate. For an additional fee, we also offer boxed lunches, served in the Far East Room. To learn more about booking a group tour, please email museums@jhu.edu.

Yes, Evergreen’s Gift Shop is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and offers a variety of attractive items for sale, including stationery, books, toys and games, housewares, jewelry, and accessories. Can I explore the grounds?
Evergreen sits on approximately 26 acres of gardens, meadows, and woods in North Baltimore. Portions of the grounds can be explored during regular operating hours (Tuesday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.) via self-guided tours. All visitors must check-in at the Gift Shop first to receive a map and instructions before touring the grounds. More information on the gardens and grounds tour can be found here.

Can I take photographs at Evergreen?
Yes, you are welcome to take photographs/video in designated areas at Evergreen provided that it is not for commercial use or disruptive. Please consult our Photography Policy for further information.

What facilities are available on-site for visitors?
Lockers, bathrooms, and a water fountain are available onsite. Neither food concessions nor an ATM is available.

Can I bring my pet?
With the exception of service animals, pets are not permitted.

Are strollers allowed?
Strollers are welcome but will need to be left at the Gift Shop if you are taking a docent-led tour.
